Campaign for more women in EU senior positions.
BBC News online, today writes that European Commission Vice - President Margot Wallstrom is campaigning to get more women into senior EU positions. She is not arguing that women are better than men, more that it is in the interests of society as a whole that women and men are represented equally. Women bring a different view of the world to the table, they have different experiences, seeing things differently and acting differently.
Out of 12 European Parliament presidents , only two have been women and to date there has never been a female president of the European Commission.
Margot Wallstrom would like to see Europe lead by example by implementing the Commissions policies and recommendations.
