Case Study: Flexible Working - Saros Research Ltd
Saros Research is a small market research recruitment company working in a flexible and family friendly way. All project managers and self-employed interviewers work from home and the staff team includes several part-timers and job-sharers. Even the full-timers work flexibly as some overseas clients need contact outside 9 -5.
Many of the staff are parents, including single parents, who value being able to arrange their time flexibly, but the policies are not restricted to parents. One employee is a part-time drama school attendee and there are others who enjoy cheaper gym passes and driving lessons off-peak.
Some of Saros’s staff would otherwise be out of the job market entirely as a result of their domestic commitments and others have skills which need updating. So the company arranges appropriate training, eg, ECDL training for an administrator who was a returner. Industry-specific training and experiential opportunities at Saros parent company helps staff develop their careers in research.
