The improvements they had seen, such as the reduction in insurance premiums and reduction in accidents, clearly demonstrated the business case for investing in employee health."
Foyle Food Group’s Health & Well-being Programme includes pre-employment health screening for new staff and annual medicals for existing staff, and is available to all its 840 employees. By monitoring staff the company is able to identify individual health risks and lifestyle factors that may have an impact on staff and help reduce risk and workplace related illnesses.
With half of its staff being migrant workers, Foyle Food Group has translated its health awareness programme into Russian, Polish and Portuguese and this has now been rolled out across the province – accessible to 3,000 people.
Impact:-
- Independent health and safety audit shows improvements in procedures by 20.8%
- By delivering a safer working environment (with accidents reduced by 43.5%), they have reduced employers liability insurance by 28%
- Foyle Food Group have also seen an 84% reduction in absenteeism as a result of illness.
