We pursue equality and diversity because it is without question the right thing to do. It is utterly unacceptable that gender should still be a barrier to success and progression within the workplace.
However, it’s not just about what’s right. An often overlooked fact is that diversity is a business-critical issue – it brings hard, quantifiable benefits to all organisations.
We know that when employers embrace and encourage a diverse work environment, their businesses become more dynamic, more competitive and more successful.
It is estimated that reducing gender segregation and increasing women’s employment could benefit the economy by up to £23 billion.
So you can see that it’s incredibly important to ensure that everyone has the chance to reach their full potential in their careers.
Opportunity Now is working very hard to achieve just that, building the business case and helping employers with the very real advantages that come with greater diversity among employees.
