Colin became of Head of Institutional Sales and Trading Europe when the divisions of Fixed Income and Equities were reorganised in March 2007. Prior, he had been Co-Head of Fixed Income Europe since February 2006 and Head of Commodities Europe since 1994.

He joined Morgan Stanley in 1987 to set up Energy Trading and Risk management functions in London. He was a Director of the International Petroleum Exchange of London from 1992 to 2000 and Vice Chairman from 1996 to 2000.

Colin graduated from Glasgow University in 1978 with an MA (Honours) Degree in Geography and Political Economy. From 1978 until 1982, he worked on various supply and pricing functions for the British National Oil Corporation (BNOC). From 1982 to 1986, he worked as a senior crude oil trader with Britoil.

Colin serves on the Board of Directors of Morgan Stanley and Co. International Plc. and is Chairman of Morgan Stanley Bank. He is also a member of both the Global and European Management Committees and leads Morgan Stanley’s Talent, Recruitment and Retention Taskforce.
